Teriyaki Steak Marinade Ingredients
This marinade is enough liquid to cover 2 steaks in a Ziplock bag with the air forced out.
- 1/2 Cup Kikkoman Tamari Soy Sauce*
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 2 Tbsp Creamed Honey*
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder*
- 1/2 Tsp Ground Ginger*
Recipe Notes:
*If you don’t have tamari sauce use low sodium soy sauce
*If you don’t have creamed honey, use regular honey OR Dark brown sugar.
*Minced garlic works too.
*Fresh ginger works too.
Combine the Ingredients in a Medium Pot over Low-Medium Heat Until Well Incorporated
Whisk ingredients together until well combined.
Allow to cool and then marinate steaks in a ziplock bag overnight.
Heating isn’t entirely necessary but if you’re using creamed honey, it won’t mix as easily as regular honey.
I just think creamed honey tastes better in marinades and sauces.
Be Mindful of HIGH HEAT with this Marinade
Be mindful of searing for too long over high heat with this marinade.
There’s lots of sugar and it can easily burn if seared for too long.
A method like reverse searing would work better if your goal is rare or medium-rare.
Be sure to flip regularly and manipulate hot and cool zones.
