Basic Submarine Sandwich Oil Recipe

I'm an Italian Grinder "WITH OIL" guy. If you're the same person - this is the that good oil they put on the grinders. (If you like Dietz & Watson's oil, you'll like this).

Ingredients for this Oil

  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Combine the Oil and Vinegar First

Whisk Canola oil, EVOO, and red wine vinegar together.

Then add your salt and sugar and ensure they’re dissolved and well combined.

Then add the rest of the dried ingredients, whisk until well combined.

Transfer this to a squirt bottle or similar storage container.

Refrigerate for ~30 minutes to let flavors marry.

Shake well before using and store in refrigerator.

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a bowl combine oil and vinegar.
    1/2 cup canola oil, 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Then add the salt and sugar and ensure they dissolve.

  • Then add the rest of the dry ingredients – whisking until well combined.

  • Put into a squirt bottle or similar storage container. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to marry.
