Editorial Policy

Barbecue FAQ is an informational website that makes barbecue and smoking meat more approachable. Barbecue FAQ’s goal is to provide content that is original, factual, and free of ethical concerns/conflicts.

All of the content found on Barbecue FAQ is written by Dylan Clay who has first-hand experience in barbecue. Authorship for every article is reflected at the top and bottom of every post.

During the research phase of writing articles, Dylan Clay combines his first-hand experience with other primary sources.

First hand experience refers to Dylan Clay’s intimate knowledge of barbecue and having physical experience with the subject matter.

A primary resource refers to the most current primary references, peer-reviewed articles, government organizations, and academic institutions. Barbecue FAQ avoids anecdotal information and goes based off of empirical data and science-backed information.

When and if we make reference to a resource, we will do either an in-line citation or list them in the a works cited section (References) at the end of an article.

Up-to-Date Information and Best Practices

As the Barbecue World continues to make new findings and explanations for various phenomena, we will routinely update our existing content to be reflective of the current best practices and guidelines.

When an article is updated, the last modified date is automatically updated at the top of the post.
